First stop: Sebring (Florida) with its 1000-mile race held on Friday 17 March. Also on track was the SCG007 #708, the Hypercar designed, developed, and assembled by Podium Advanced Technologies for the Glickenhaus Racing team. The race, unfortunately, ended early for the #708 due to a technical problem in the second hour, which meant the end of the race for the three drivers of the team Pla, Dumas and Briscoe. "We had a small electrical fault that we spotted as soon as we had access to the car but, unfortunately, since the car was towed to the pits, we were not allowed to re-enter the race - commented Luca Ciancetti, team manager of Glickenhaus Racing and the Road Cars and Motorsport department of Podium Advanced Technologies. - Sebring is a demanding track for the reliability of the car and, even though the car had been adequately prepared by our crew, the fault highlighted the improvements we need to incorporate into the design of the car. We are focused and committed to reacting quickly. It is still exciting to race against such an incredible set of opponents.” This year, in fact, the Hypercar Class of the Championship is considerably enlarged with 13 cars on the track and the debut of Ferrari, Porsche and Cadillac that will certainly contribute to make the competition even more interesting and challenging. The next round of the championship will be held in Portimao (Portugal) in mid-April, followed by the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps at the end of April, the famous 24 Hours of Le Mans in June and the 6 Hours of Monza in July. The Championship will resume after a summer break in Fuji (Japan) in September and will end with the 6 Hours of Bahain in November. "Our goal is to be ready for the next race. - Ciancetti stated - It is always a great opportunity to test ourselves in such a high-level championship. We would like to thank Jim Glickenhaus, who year after year continues to believe in Podium Advanced Technologies and commit himself to this project with great passion and initiative."
