Podium Advanced Technologies lands in the nautical world with a bespoke lithium battery pack for El-Iseo, Riva’s first electric motorboat prototype

Pont-Saint-Martin, 10 October 2022 – Not just motorsport and road cars: Podium Advanced Technologies lands in the nautical sector with the design and development of a tailor-made battery pack for one of the most iconic brands in yachting
El-Iseo, the first full-electric powerboat from Riva, the most iconic and renowned brand of luxury yachts made in Italy that celebrate the 180° anniversary, was unveiled on September 5 at the Ferretti Group’s Private Preview at the Yacht Club de Monaco.

This first prototype is the fully electric powered version of the famous Iseo, a 27-foot runabout, whose sophisticated and seductive soul it keeps intact but with a Parker GVM310 electric motor with a maximum power of 250 kW and 300 kW peak power. The motor is powered by the innovative 800 V lithium battery system designed and manufactured by Podium Advanced Technologies, consisting of two independent battery packs positioned between the motor and the aft seat, with a capacity of 75 kWh each, 150 kWh in total. The redundant battery architecture ensures reliability and safety, key prerogatives during navigation.

The result is a zero-emission runabout with unprecedented performance both in terms of top speed, self-limited to 40 knots, and in terms of range, ensuring up to 10 hours of navigation in “adagio” mode.

This was a really demanding challenge for the Pont-Saint-Martin-based company at its debut in the nautical world, a sector where the focus on sustainable mobility is spreading rapidly.
